Mask wins SME Award

Mask Creative has been awarded the Reporter Series SME Business of the Year award at last weeks ceremony.

Unfortunately none of our representatives were present at the ceremony, so the award was collected on our behalf by on of the editorial team from the event organisers.

In this months (November) issue of PP, there features an 8 page spread on the history and challenges of Johnny Carr as a advertising photographer. If your in a news agents get yourself a copy, you may have to buy one as opposed to flicking though it in the shop – they have bagged it in plastic. Here are some pics of the spreads.

Behind the scenes St Davids

We have nearly finished the edit for the latest TV commercial for St Davids shopping centre in Cardiff. We shoot all of the live action in our studio on green screen, and then put together a rough off-line edit for the client to make amends, which was then loaded and keyed in AFX. We are now fine tuning the music and the effects, but it will feature here in it’s entirety fairly soon.

Shoot Day

The crew arrives at the studio to work on the set. The set build was done over the previous day, so our shoot day involved rigging the lighting, prop styling, deciding the relevant camera angles, and planning the direction of exit for each individual item of furniture.

We worked in reverse, so started with the set styled and lit as we intended it to look at the end frame stage, then dismantled the set piece by piece, whilst recording every move.

Filming commenced at 11.30 am. We wrapped on day at 10.30pm.
